Computing Reviews, the post-publication review and comment journal of ACM, is seeking a volunteer Hot Topics Editor.
The Hot Topics section of Computing Reviews (CR) covers issues in computing that currently engender considerable attention from researchers. The goal is to make our readers aware of current research trends that have the promise of impact upon other areas, either within or outside the field of computer science. Topics covered are expected to be very current (before any impact is felt), but not entirely speculative (after they have been funded by national agencies). Each Hot Topic (HT) is a package of elements, the centerpiece being a provocative 1,000- to 2,000-word state-of-the-field essay, written by a highly qualified individual.
The Hot Topics Editor will:
-Identify groundbreaking CS research topics;
-Suggest potential authors for Hot Topics essays;
-Have an interest in helping steer this visible part of the site;
-Work with CR editorial staff to coordinate the Hot Topic essays.
Time Commitment: 5-6 hours per month on average
To Apply: Please email your CV and a statement outlining why you feel you would be a good candidate to HTeditorapps@computingreviews.com (Subject: Hot Topics Editor).
